The more you tell us up front, the more useful the reply. A short message with the basics is fine, but these details help us answer the first time rather than trading messages back and forth.

What happens after you send it

A person reads your message and answers it, usually within a business day. If the answer is a page we already have, we will send you there. If it is a question we have not covered, it may become a new guide, and we will tell you so. Nothing is automated here beyond the form itself, because a guide site that answers with a robot has missed the point of talking to a reader.

Trip planning help

If you want help shaping a day, say what you are after: an easy family beach morning, a birding loop through the refuges, a lake day, or a first attempt at sand driving. We will suggest a real destination from the site, the season that suits it and the gear and safety notes that matter for it. We would rather send you somewhere honest than anywhere glamorous.

Corrections and accuracy

This site names real places, and real places change: a ramp reopens, a season shifts, a rule is updated by the managing authority. If you spot something out of date, tell us, because accuracy is the one promise this guide makes above all others. We will check it against the authority that manages the site and correct the page rather than leave a wrong detail standing.

Where we are

We cover the Rio Grande Valley and the coast that runs out of it, from the river-mouth beach in the east to the border lake in the west. If your question is about driving outside that territory, we will say so honestly rather than guess at ground we do not know. Staying inside our range is how the advice stays trustworthy.
